Introduction

"Years ago I was put on statins – my cholesterol was very high at a time when I was actually very fit. I used to be so active – trekking all over the world. I really didn’t want to continue taking statins though, so I decided to try to get my cholesterol down with diet and exercise. And I did, but I had to be so strict with myself. I cut out all fatty food, I only ate chicken and fish, I stopped drinking alcohol, and never ate dairy. I went pretty mad on exercise too. Then I had all these problems with my foot, and after a foot operation that went terribly wrong, I’ve been forced into being a slob – frustrated, fat and bored! I’m still in the process of getting my foot sorted, which means more operations! Unfortunately when you have surgery all you’re interested in is feeling better, so you eat cheesecake and too much stilton and red wine!

With a propensity to high cholesterol, I knew this was bad news. And when I saw this thing about cholesterol trials, I thought it was a good way to get on and start doing something again in terms of paying attention to my diet, because I’m obviously not in a position to go out and do loads and loads of exercise with my foot still in a cast. The fact you can take Flora pro.activ foods to reduce cholesterol, that has to be a good thing. "
